The Lillebelt Bridge Connecting Funen With Jutland 1935, Bing & Grondahl Christmas Plate

1935 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Ove Larsen, has the title The Lillebelt Bridge connecting Funen with Jutland. Bing & Grondahl’s Christmas plate from 1935 depicts the bridge across the Little Belt. This bridge was opened on May 14th 1935. The bridge was under construction from 1929 to 1935. The building of this bridge was started to reduce the unemployment which was very high during the years of the depression. This bridge, which is still in use, takes trains, cars and pedestrians. Because of increasing traffic, a new bridge across the Little Belt was opened on October 21st 1970, and now both bridges are in use.
